As you know, I'm a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer, author of the incredible series "Twilight", "New Moon" and "Eclipse"...the addictive story of Bella Swann, regular girl, who moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her Dad, and falls in love with Edward Cullen, a boy who happens to be a vampire. Not just any vampire, but a stunningly gorgeous, smart, sexy (and sparkly) one, and anyone who reads these books will find themselves falling for him the same way.

In fact, not only does Ms. Meyers entrance us with one supernaturally appealing male lead... she had to throw in another one, Jacob Black, an endearingly sweet Quileute Indian teen and were-wolf. Yes, were-wolf. And he is Bella's best friend, and back-up heart-throb. Ladies, you will be mad about Jake, as well. No one can compete with Edward...but Jake comes pretty damn close!

What can I say? I'm a huge romantic, and I have always loved vampire fiction and films. These are the perfect books!
They have it all.

I even did a tribute "Six Chix " cartoon which will appear on Sunday, October 28, so check your local papers or online wherever "Six Chix" appears! I brought the original plus a color version to present to Stephenie Meyer. I hope she likes it!

After it runs in the paper, I'll post a link.

Edward or Jacob?
That is the question

I'm such a fan that I convinced long suffering friend of friends
Steve W. to accompany me to a signing at Barnes and Noble in Burlington, Ma, so he could document it for this page. It was torrentially down-pouring when we arrived at 3:00 (yes, for a 7:00 appearance!) to get our wrist bands. We lucked out and got teal wristbands which allowed us to sit down for the 4 hours we had to wait, and it went by fairly quickly, as I enjoyed watching all the fans with their home-made shirts and signs.

Stephenie Meyer was running late so by the time she appeared it was 7:30. She did a quick Q & A, then the fans were called by color section (and there were a LOT of fans) and we lined up and snaked through the rows of book shelves
 to the signing area.

Getting my book and the library's copy signed!

The big news is the casting of the movie version of "Twilight"!
See photos at top for Edward and Bella. Looks good so far!

Preview of the Twilight Movie. Looks fantastic! Can't wait!

NEW DATE FOR THE MOVIE RELEASE!!!
NOV. 21, 2008!!!

T Day

Have you been counting down the days since word first got out that "Twilight" was being made into a movie and anxiously awaiting the release date? It's finally here! T Day! Hordes of fans will descend on theaters, including me, this morning, at 11:00 A.M. I know, the true Twi-hards did the midnight show last night, but from here, midnight is a haul to the nearest theater, so I had to settle for the official release date.

I'll be back, later, to give you my review.  Seeing some of your favorite literary characters brought to life (and un-life) can be tricky...but we fans have faith. I already know I'm going to love it. How could I not?

WWell, I couldn't publish this website on Friday to rave about the movie.
I LOVED it. Loved, loved, loved Robert Pattinson as Edward. He captured the heart of the character perfectly. Kristen Stewart was a smart, lovely Bella. I  would have liked a few more scenes from the book in the script, and yes, some of the dialogue was messed with, but, I still enjoyed it. I also like Jacob. The film itself is very dreamy, with a green, wet, rainforest-y essence.

So, Nico was home and what better way to bond than by seeing "Twilight" a second time. Scenes that I particularly love are the scene where they walk down the high school hallway, oblivious to the people around them. The scene where Edward rescues Bella from the creepy guys in Port Angeles, then takes her for dinner. Of course, the scene where Edward saves Bella from being squooshed by the van, LOVE that scene!!!

So, yes, I plan to see it again, and of course to OWN it when it comes out on DVD!!!

Well,
