Tribute
"I will
always love you" Lorelai sang the words of Dolly Parton
at Karaoke night in Stars Hollow, to cheer Rory up after
the disappointment
of not getting the NY Times fellowship, and as the crowd cheered
her on,
Luke walks in and their eyes meet and for the fans of this amazing
show this was the culmination of everything we have always hoped for,
Lorelai's
inadvertent recognition of their bond, that Lorelai will always love Luke.
Sadly, the
show came to an end with a farewell party for Rory as she prepared to
leave her Mom and hit Barrack Obama's campaign trail, after turning Logan
down on his proposal.
All of Stars Hollow turned out to say goodbye, as did we, the fans, who
will always keep a special place in our hearts for Luke and Lorelai and for the amazing, heartfelt,
realer
than real world we lived in for 7 too short years.
On a personal note, Nico and I are
in denial,
as of course we relate to Lorelai and Rory,
and Tuesday nights have been our most important night of the week
no matter where we are!
Luke,
Lorelai, Rory, Stars Hollow...we will always love you!
(despite John's heckling!)
